Every release of R2, newest first. R2 tells you when an update is waiting; press Update now on the notice when you are ready.
1.7.108 - 2026-09-28
- Books v3.22: no entry without a stop. A book that starts out of sync with its account (the yellow row after a NinjaTrader restart) now refuses to enter, and every entry gets its stop and target however NinjaTrader reports the fill. If an entry is ever left uncovered, the book places its own stop and target within seconds, or closes it.
- Timed exits run on the clock. A slot closes at its exit time even when the price feed has dropped. New entries are refused while prices are stale.
- Books you switch off stay off. Disable or Flatten now survives any NinjaTrader restart, including ones you make yourself.
- R2 re-syncs out-of-sync books for you. When a book is out of sync and its account is flat, R2 switches it off and on again outside entry windows, and tells you. If it stays out of sync it is left off until the next session.
- Positions without a stop are protected. If any position on an R2 account has had no stop for 90 seconds, R2 places a stop and a take-profit sized inside the account's limits, or closes the uncovered part. It never touches positions of your own strategies. Both behaviours have switches in Settings.
- Lost price feed and frozen NinjaTrader. R2 now tells you when a connection's price feed has dropped, or when NinjaTrader's window and order handling freeze, and never restarts NinjaTrader by itself while you hold a position. The alert tells you to check your broker's own platform for orders left working.
- Alerts you were missing. The out-of-sync warning, licence problems, late pre-open refusals, a compile that failed, and book-down alerts at night now reach the phone. A book R2 left off is no longer reported as down.
- Firm resets and payout cycles. Settings can mark an account as reset by the firm or as starting a new payout cycle, so old highs no longer stand a fresh account aside.
- Planner. Books kept during a swap use the current firm rules; accounts missed during a re-plan are re-planned once seen; two books never share one contract on one account; Tokyo slot times are read on Tokyo time.
- Journal. Trades are paired by trading day in NinjaTrader's own time zone, so a PC on another time zone no longer loses closes.
- Attach and compile never collide with a NinjaTrader restart or with each other; a Compile NT8 press reports what happened.
1.7.107 - 2026-09-27
- Safer books (v3.16). Every book protects its position in more situations: a stop or target cancelled by the broker is put back, a restart never strips a live position's stop, two books on one account can no longer confuse each other's closes, a rejected close is retried, and sizes can only rise at the next 09:00 check. The backtests are unchanged.
- Books trade the right hours whatever your clocks say. NinjaTrader's time zone, Windows' time zone and the "Convert PC time to New York" box no longer have to match.
- Hitting the daily loss limit always alerts you, even straight after the 75% warning.
- Flatten and HALT are safer. Flatten never closes a position twice and finishes by itself when a trade is still settling; stopping a book never cancels the stop that protects an open position; HALT and Flatten say plainly that your own strategies keep running.
- Accounts at one firm can no longer end up on opposite sides. Firm-mates on one book share one size pattern; changes that would break it wait for the next attach, and R2 tells you to press Attach.
- Sizing is stricter. R2 never offers a size whose worst day is bigger than the room left, respects funded contract limits that grow with profit, and counts full-size contracts as 10 micros.
- R2 never reopens a NinjaTrader you closed yourself, never compiles near a book's entry, and a pending update is refused if it would install an older version.
- You can switch off R2's automatic start in Settings. It stays off through updates; while it's off, R2 won't start with Windows or restart itself, so nothing re-attaches books or alerts you while it's closed.
- More reliable alerts when Telegram is slow, and fewer false "enable it" alarms for books R2 holds off on purpose.
1.7.104 - 2026-09-26
- A stood-aside account really stops. When R2 stands an account aside, its running book is switched off as soon as that account is flat. Until then R2 warns you that it is still holding a position.
- R2 warns you overnight too. If NinjaTrader stops or stops reporting at any time the futures market is open (Sunday evening to Friday evening), R2 tells you. That used to happen only during the New York day.
- Warnings that get worse always reach your phone, and a broken firm settings file no longer silences the other checks.
- The daily loss check counts open losses, not only closed trades.
- A button pressed while NinjaTrader was not answering does not run minutes later when it wakes up.
- The end-of-day close never touches accounts you told R2 to ignore.
- The compile warning tells the truth about whether your stops stay in place.
- Firms can be set as trailing intraday or at the close, and R2 refuses to size an intraday firm rather than guess.
- When the books change, every account is re-planned straight away and R2 tells you to attach.
- New, safer versions of all nine books. Every book gets the position-safety fixes: an exit can never open a position, leftover orders are cleaned up after a restart, and HALT is respected. Their backtests no longer count trades that could not happen live, so some books show a little less profit and a truer record. Your accounts are re-planned on these records, and the new books go on at the next attach.
- Updates are safer. R2 now refuses any update file that has been altered after it was signed, and it never puts an older version of the books or add-ons back over a newer one.
- "Keep my settings" on uninstall keeps your trade journal and your own strategies' originals.
- Telegram YES is safer. It answers only questions R2 asked. It never replaces a longer backtest with a shorter one or with a run on the wrong chart. It no longer freezes R2 while a plan is running.
- The end-of-day close only retries a close that was rejected and never sends one after 17:00.
- After RESUME, R2 restarts NinjaTrader itself if the books will not switch back on, but only when every account is flat.
- R2 compiles its add-on by itself only outside the trading day or when every account is flat.
- Funded payouts use your firm's withdrawal share. Set it in Settings; until you do, R2 assumes 50% and says so.
- Your own strategies (Intake) must have a real protective stop, and books with slot numbers above nine are sized correctly.
- R2 works in any time zone. On a US PC, books with Asia-session trades were wrongly refused as held overnight.
- R2 warns when NinjaTrader would cancel your stops. NinjaTrader has an option (on by default in a new install) that cancels a strategy's stop and target whenever the strategy is stopped: HALT ALL, Disable, a compile. With it on, an open position is left with no stop. R2 now checks it and warns you plainly until it is turned off.
- HALT ALL stops only R2's books. Strategies of your own keep running.
- A position R2 did not open is named as such. R2's books trade micro contracts only. The "no stop" warning still covers every position, but when one is not R2's it says so, so you can check your own trading or copier before closing anything.
- The end-of-day close no longer cancels your stops first, checks that the account is really flat, retries if not, and never runs after the 17:00 close.
- Buttons are never ignored silently. A dashboard press while R2 is busy with a plan, an attach or the wizard is refused with a message, and two quick presses no longer overwrite each other.
- One plan at a time. A Settings change no longer runs a second plan alongside one already running, which could undo a pinned book.
- Clearing a firm setting in Settings now really clears it.
- Payouts use your firm's own share, not a flat 50%.
- R2 works on every Windows language. On some languages (for example Finnish, Danish or Arabic) R2 wrote dates it could not read back, and every account stood aside.
- Your accounts are re-planned once after this update, so the corrected trade counting reaches them.
- Sizing counts each trade once. When NinjaTrader closes one entry with more than one fill, its backtest lists that trade on several lines. R2's planner counted every line as a whole trade, so some books looked up to a fifth more profitable than their backtest, and their losing days looked worse too. Each line now counts as its share of the trade. Your accounts' sizes may change at the next re-plan, because the plan now uses the backtest's real numbers.
- A dashboard button no longer disappears silently. If R2's window was already showing something (Help, the report, the wizard), a second button pressed on the dashboard was accepted and then ignored. The dashboard now tells you what R2 is showing and asks you to close it first.
- Compile knows when it has finished. Pressed soon after NinjaTrader started, Compile could finish correctly while R2 still said "press F5 in NinjaTrader yourself" and left the books off. R2 now checks that the add-on started again after the press.
- The risk levels show re-measured results. The test behind each level was re-run with each trade counted once: Very low 92% passed and 6% lost; Low 89% and 9%; Medium 82% and 17%; Aggressive 75% and 24%; Turbo 73% and 26%. The two safest levels lose a little more often than the old labels said.
- Hedging is off unless you allow it. Every firm R2 knows forbids hedging, so an account with no choice now counts as "no hedging", and R2 warns if one of your accounts holds opposite positions in related index futures. The setup wizard no longer drops this setting.
- After HALT ALL, books come back. If NinjaTrader was started while HALT ALL was on, it would not let its books be switched back on after RESUME. R2 now says so and tells you the fix: restart NinjaTrader once after RESUME, and the books switch back on. R2 also no longer mistakes its own clicks for yours, and it no longer retries every 30 seconds.
- The setup wizard keeps your settings. It no longer drops an account's hedging choice, or resets a risk level it did not show you.
- Update waits for the setup wizard. An update no longer restarts R2 while the wizard is open.
- R2's Telegram window shows only the last three digits of your chat id.
1.7.99 - 2026-09-26
A safety release from a full audit of R2. Nothing here changes which book or how many contracts an account trades unless noted; the sizing changes found by the audit wait for the owner's sign-off.
- HALT ALL now stays halted. R2 used to switch the books back on about ten seconds after a halt, and an attach or a NinjaTrader restart did the same. Every way of starting a book now respects the halt, R2 records it even when NinjaTrader doesn't answer, and RESUME clears it.
- The dashboard refuses commands from other web pages. A web page open in a browser on the same PC could send R2 a halt, a flatten, a Settings change or an attach. It can't any more.
- An attach waits until every account is flat with no working orders. It used to close NinjaTrader with a position open, leaving it unmanaged.
- Leftover stop or target orders are cancelled. When a position closes but its partner order is still working, R2 now cancels its own leftover orders automatically, and warns you about any other order that could open a position with no stop.
- Orders R2 didn't place are reported. Hand trades and other tools on an R2 account, and positions bigger than the plan allows, now raise a warning.
- A book waiting to go flat is shown. After a restart a book can wait for its own replayed position to close before it trades; R2 now tells you.
- Accounts R2 isn't planning stand aside. An account that is ignored, unmapped, or whose firm settings can't be loaded no longer lets an R2 book trade its built-in sizes.
- Firm settings are checked. A firm entry with a bad value is refused with the reason, instead of quietly using a default (a limit typed as text used to read as 2,000).
- The drawdown re-size also catches a rise followed by a fall. It compares the room an account has now with the room it was planned for.
- Alerts: no flood of old trade messages; one kind of warning can no longer mute another for two hours; a lost connection with a position open is told within a minute; a failed Telegram send is retried; account numbers in messages are shortened; cross-account hedges are judged across the whole index family (MNQ, MES, MYM and their minis, any month), as the firms judge them.
- Journal: trades are credited to the book that placed them, slots above 9 read correctly, and a trade that crosses midnight is no longer split in two.
- On camera: a header switch hides account numbers; the phone link and the licence key are masked.
- Installer: a reinstall keeps your approved backtest results, and uninstalling asks before deleting settings and never closes NinjaTrader.
1.7.98 - 2026-09-25
- An account you set to ignore stops trading R2's book. Ignoring an account took it out of R2's plan, but an R2 book already attached to it stayed there. The next time that book started, it found no plan for the account and fell back to its built-in sizes, and nothing asked for the attach that would remove it. R2 now tells its own book on an ignored account to stay off: it switches itself off when it starts and is stopped before the open while the account is flat. Your own strategies on an ignored account are not touched.
1.7.97 - 2026-09-25
- An account that loses a lot of its drawdown room is re-sized by itself. A plan sizes each account for the room it has when the plan is made, but a bad day did not ask for a new one: the books kept trading at the morning's sizes with half the room gone. Now, after the New York close, any account that has lost a quarter or more of the room its plan was made with is re-planned from where it stands. Its book is kept unless it no longer fits the risk level, and the smaller sizes go on at the next attach, as with every re-plan.
1.7.96 - 2026-09-25
- A trade message no longer shows two accounts under one name. Accounts are listed by the last few characters of their names, and a firm can number a 50K and a 100K account alike - both read "...50001", which looked like one account losing twice. When two accounts in one message end the same, R2 now shows enough of each name to tell them apart.
1.7.95 - 2026-09-25
- The "no stop and no target" alert no longer fires on stops that are working. It waits 90 seconds to confirm a position is really bare, but it timed those 90 seconds on R2's own clock. When NinjaTrader paused writing its snapshot, R2 read the same snapshot twice - one taken in the instant between a fill and its stop going on - and raised the alert with both stops in place. It now needs two different NinjaTrader snapshots, 90 seconds apart, both showing the position bare. It ignores a snapshot more than a minute old; a silent NinjaTrader already has its own alert.
1.7.94 - 2026-09-25
- The account cards now say sessions too. 1.7.93 changed the wording in R2's messages but the cards on the dashboard still said "trading days". They now read, for example, "74 sessions to pass (~4 months)". The Settings help for how often a book must trade no longer says the estimate counts only the days a book trades - it counts every session.
1.7.93 - 2026-09-25
- The time to pass and to payout is shown in sessions. Each account card said "trading days", which reads as days the book actually trades. The number has always counted sessions - every weekday the market is open, including the ones the book sits out, about 21 to the month. Only the word changed; the estimates are the same.
1.7.92 - 2026-09-25
- "Days to pass" and "days to payout" on each account are right. R2 plans each account from where it actually stands, so the plan's typical time already covers what that account still has to earn. The estimate treated it as the time for the whole target and scaled again - an account below its start showed too long (96 days where the plan said 74) and one above it too short (47 where it said 61). The estimate now paces on what the account needed when it was planned.
1.7.91 - 2026-09-25
- A book you switched off stays off when R2 moves that account to another book. A switch-off was remembered with the book that was running at the time, and the attach re-applied it to that name only. When a re-plan gave the account a different book, the switch-off no longer matched anything and the new book started trading. It now follows the account: the attach switches off whichever book R2 has put there, and remembers the new name.
1.7.90 - 2026-09-25
- One book per firm now holds when only some of a firm's accounts are re-planned. Changing the risk of some accounts re-plans only those - and they could vote the firm onto a different book while the firm's other accounts stayed where they were, leaving one firm on two books (the cross-account hedge the rule exists to prevent). The accounts that are not being re-planned now decide the firm's book, and the re-planned ones join it.
1.7.89 - 2026-09-25
- Settings says plainly which books you cannot pick, and why. The book list shows every book R2 has a backtest for - including books from older versions that this one no longer ships. Those were labelled "NinjaTrader has not loaded this book's details yet", as if they were on their way. They now read "not in this version of R2" or "retired in this version of R2", and only the books this version ships can be chosen.
1.7.88 - 2026-09-25
- The attach log gives the real reason for each re-attach. A book re-attached to take up new contract sizes was described as "on a contract that has rolled". Each line now says why that book is being re-attached: new sizes, a rolled contract, a second copy, or an account set to ignore.
1.7.87 - 2026-09-25
- Re-plan keeps your books unless another is clearly better. The guide says RE-PLAN keeps each account's current book unless a challenger is worth at least 15% more per session - and the automatic re-plans did, but the RE-PLAN button and the nightly re-plan after a book's re-test chose every account from scratch. (An account you change in Settings is still decided afresh, as you asked.) Re-picking on small differences costs money, which is why the margin exists. All of them now keep the current book the same way.
- After RE-PLAN, R2's window now says that an account whose book or contracts changed needs an attach.
1.7.86 - 2026-09-25
- The setup wizard names the accounts it is waiting for. At the attach step, "WAITING FOR EVERY ACCOUNT TO CONNECT" is followed by the accounts that are not connected - but the list was cut off under its first line, so you were told to wait without being told for which account. The message now grows to show every account it names. The same fix applies to the phone-alerts status line.
1.7.85 - 2026-09-25
- A performance alarm no longer keeps a plan that no longer fits. When an alarm re-plans a book's accounts, each keeps its book and contracts unless another book is clearly better - but the kept plan was not measured again, so after 1.7.84's new planner it showed the old planner's figures, and a plan that no longer fitted its risk level could be kept. A kept plan is now measured by the current planner, kept only if it still fits, and shows its real pass rate, loss rate and money per session.
1.7.84 - 2026-09-25
How R2 chooses books and sizes was rebuilt and tested on every quarter from 2021 to 2026: R2 chose using only the history before each date and was scored on what happened next. Against the previous version, this one passed more accounts and lost fewer at every risk level. Every account is re-planned once after it installs (after the New York close, or at once if you press Re-plan). The changes:
- R2 ranks on money per session. For each size it weighs the chance of a payout, what a pass is worth, what a lost attempt costs you, and how many sessions an attempt takes - including the sessions a lost account uses up. A size that loses more accounts no longer wins by being half a session quicker. Each firm's settings have two new numbers, what an attempt costs you and what a pass is worth to you; R2 assumes $100 and $2,000 until you set them.
- Nine books instead of twenty-two. Thirteen were near-copies or weaker versions of books that stay. In the test, accounts R2 put on the removed books lost far more often (at Medium, 27% against 15%), and the nine on their own lost fewer accounts at every level. A removed book keeps trading until NinjaTrader next restarts; R2 then moves that account to one of the nine.
- The risk levels now show what they delivered. The old labels were promises the backtests did not keep ("Low: loses under 5%" lost about 11%). Each level now shows its tested result: Very low 93% passed, 4% lost; Low 90% and 7%; Medium 83% and 16%; Aggressive 75% and 24%; Turbo 71% and 28%. Every level can always be chosen.
- R2 plans as if a daily loss limit ends the account. Most firms' limits only end the day, but planning the strict way chose safer sizes and lost fewer accounts in the test, so it stays R2's default. A firm can be marked as day-only in its settings.
- A new size now asks for an attach. A book reads its contract sizes only when it starts, so a risk change that kept the same book left it trading the old sizes until NinjaTrader happened to restart - accounts on Low, Medium and High could trade identical sizes. R2 now compares the sizes each book is running with the plan and shows Attach now when they differ.
- Performance alarm. Once a day R2 compares each book on your accounts with its own backtest. If it has fallen short by more than a healthy book does about once in two and a half years, you get one message and its accounts are re-planned after the New York close. The book and its size stay unless another is worth at least 15% more per session. Nothing is ever paused.
- The second book of a pair now trades. Each book reads its sizes from R2's plan when it starts, and every book read the FIRST line for its account - on a paired account that line names the other book, so the second book switched itself off and only half the pair ever traded. Each book now reads the line that names it. Strategies added through Intake get the same fix.
- Pairs keep both books. At a re-plan, an account on two books was read as its second book alone and could be moved onto that one book while R2 said it had kept the plan. Pairs are also judged on the years both books existed, not on the older book's whole history.
- A plan that no longer fits its risk level is never kept in preference to one that does.
- Editing a firm no longer drops the rules the form does not show.
- When R2 declines a risk level, the reason now matches the decision.
- Funded profiles whose consistency rule ends after the evaluation are no longer held to it. Firms with no profit target (survival only) can now be planned.
1.7.83 - 2026-09-24
- The daily report names every account that is not trading. It only listed the accounts NinjaTrader was showing, so an account whose connection never logged in was left out and the report said "All accounts trading" with two accounts offline. It now names any managed account missing from NinjaTrader, lists the accounts the plan is standing aside, and flags a planned book that is not running or a book running on an account the plan stands aside.
1.7.82 - 2026-09-24
Fixes from an audit of a day's Telegram messages:
- Trade closes count accounts, not fills. When two slots closed on one account in the same minute, the message counted two "accounts" and listed that account twice - "19 accounts" on a desk of 15. It now counts each account once, sums its fills, and says how many trades there were.
- Opens name the instrument. Every open said "OPEN ? long". It now says "OPEN MNQ long".
- A late report says when the trade really closed. A trade that closed while R2 or the PC was off is now marked "closed ... UTC - reported late" instead of looking like it just happened.
- The morning check counts every account R2 manages. An account whose connection failed to log in is not listed by NinjaTrader at all, so it was left out and the check said "all clear". It now names any managed account missing from NinjaTrader, and flags a book running on an account the plan stands aside.
- No more false "NO accounts at all". If R2 read NinjaTrader's status file in the instant it was being rewritten, it sent "NinjaTrader reports NO accounts" and "no snapshot for an unknown time" while everything was connected. It now reads again and skips that check if it still can't.
- No "has told R2 nothing for 425 minutes" the moment NinjaTrader opens. After a PC restart the silence is now measured from when NinjaTrader started.
1.7.81 - 2026-09-24
- Fixed: R2 could switch a book on for an account the plan had stood aside. When R2 finds a book stopped that should be running, it switches it back on in NinjaTrader. It picked the books by NAME, and one book usually runs on many accounts - so it also switched on the same book on an account the plan had deliberately stood aside (near its drawdown floor), and on one you had switched off. It now switches a book on only for the account the plan gives it to: never on a stand-aside account, never on one you switched off, never on an account the plan does not manage. Anything it leaves off is named in its log.
1.7.80 - 2026-09-24
-
The three Very low books are now judged on 2019 to 2026, like every other book. Their NinjaTrader results only went back to January 2024, so R2 was sizing accounts on under three years of trading. Over the full history they pass less often than those years suggested, so R2 will now pick them only where they genuinely fit, and on smaller accounts that will often be not at all. Nothing changes on an account until its next plan.
-
Fixed: "this machine does not hold that key" on every start. R2's daily licence check-in only confirmed a key that was already registered to this computer; once the key had been freed (after a reinstall, for example), nothing claimed it back and the notice repeated for ever. R2 now claims a free key itself and the notice clears. If the key really is registered to another computer, R2 says so in plain words and tells you how to move it. The check-in never stopped R2 or any trading. Reported by a tester.
1.7.79 - 2026-09-24
- New urgent notice: NinjaTrader's time zone does not match your PC's. R2's books read times in NinjaTrader's time zone and convert them to New York from your PC's time zone. If the two differ, every session trades at the wrong hour. One tester's NinjaTrader was set to New York time on a PC that was not, and a 09:30 New York trade went in at 09:30 his own time. R2 now says so on the Summary page the moment the two differ, and tells you what to change: in NinjaTrader, Tools > Options > General > Time zone, set to your PC's zone. It takes effect the next time NinjaTrader starts.
1.7.78 - 2026-09-24
- The daily loss limit on an account card now reads the right way round. The card showed "Today $81 of $1,250", which on a winning day looked like $81 of the limit had been used. It now shows what is left of the loss limit: "$81 · $1,250 of $1,250 loss limit left", and on a losing day, for example, "-$300 · $950 of $1,250 loss limit left". A profit never uses any of the limit. Reported by a tester.
1.7.77 - 2026-09-24
- Fixed: an attach removed your own chart indicators. Before rewriting the workspace, an attach removes any indicator NinjaTrader cannot build, because one it cannot build makes NinjaTrader abandon the chart and save it back empty. That check was wrong. It also removed NinjaTrader's own indicators (SMA, EMA, RSI, volume and the rest), every vendor indicator, and loggers such as JarvisBarLogger: one tester's workspace went from 40 indicators to 15. Now an indicator is kept if NinjaTrader can build it, and the attach log names anything it does remove. If an attach removed yours, R2's copy of the workspace from just before it is in Documents\NinjaTrader 8\dashboard\backups. Reported by a tester.
1.7.76 - 2026-09-24
- Each account card's curve is now the account's profit. The small curve under an account's name follows the account's profit (its balance less the firm's starting balance) after every closed trade, and ends on the same number as the Profit line below it. It used to start at $0 on the oldest trade NinjaTrader still had on record. That could show $136 on an account that was $711 up, and it was easy to mistake for something else.
1.7.75 - 2026-09-24
- Fixed: an account could be left with no strategy after an attach. A book removed from R2 in an earlier update stayed on the planner's list while NinjaTrader kept running, so R2 could still pick it for an account. The attach then put the new books into NinjaTrader, the removed book was gone, and that account came back with nothing, while the attach still reported "all attached". R2 no longer plans onto a book that an update is removing. If a plan already names one, the attach stops and tells you to press RE-PLAN. An account pinned to a removed book is now planned as if unpinned, and its Plan row says so. Reported by two testers.
1.7.74 - 2026-09-23
-
New risk level: Very low. It aims to pass 90% of the time or more and to lose the account no more than 1% of the time. It uses fewer contracts than Low and takes about a third longer to reach a payout, so it's for an account you can't afford to lose. Pick it per account in Settings. The risk button on the Summary page now steps through Very low, Low, Medium and Aggressive; Turbo is still chosen only in Settings.
-
Three new books, chosen for Very low. Their profit target sits closer than the stop, so they win about 85-90% of their trades, in small amounts. On NinjaTrader's own backtests from 2019 to 2026 they reach a payout 90-98% of the time, and lose an account 0-0.6% of the time, when sized for Very low. They are slower than the other books: 46 to 75 trading sessions to a payout. R2 picks them only where they fit the account, like any other book. They reach NinjaTrader the next time it is closed and started again.
-
The same book twice on one account is now found and fixed. Two copies of one book on one account trade double size, and the copies can get in each other's way when closing a trade. R2 now lists that account as waiting for an attach, and the attach removes the extra copy and keeps one. It only ever touches R2's own books.
-
A book you switched off stays off after an attach. NinjaTrader switches back on every book its saved workspace had running, so a book you had disabled could come back on when an attach restarted NinjaTrader. That happened here to an account below its drawdown floor. The attach now switches off again every book you turned off, before it reports that it is done.

A re-plan no longer changes what is running until you attach. When a new plan moves an account to a different book, the account keeps trading its current book, at its current size, until the attach puts the new book in place. Before, the change took effect at once. If NinjaTrader restarted before you attached, the running book saw a different name, switched itself off, and the account traded nothing until the attach. New sizing for the book an account already has still applies straight away. The Plan page lists which accounts change book at the attach.
-
An account R2 cannot size now stands aside instead of trading a size R2 never chose. If a plan cannot find a safe size for an account at its risk level (for example, an account close to its drawdown floor), that account's book switches off, and R2 tells you once. The account trades again as soon as a plan can size it. Before, the account was simply left out, and its book kept trading the size in its own settings.
-
All accounts at one firm now trade the same book. Firms judge hedging across every account you hold with them. Two accounts on different books can end up long on one and short on the other at the same moment, and firms count that as hedging. The planner now puts every account at a firm on the book most of them already get, or on the book you pinned. An account that cannot be sized on that book stands aside rather than trade a different one.
-
Settings could scatter your account list and lose three settings. Saving the Settings window wrote a copy of each account in the wrong place in the file. It also dropped the rules that ignore Sim and Backtest accounts, your default risk level and the risk-level bands. A book you had chosen for an account could also show as "auto" in Settings. Saving now keeps everything and tidies the file.
-
New warning: a book that is on but silent. If a book traded today on some of your accounts but has done nothing on another account set up the same way, R2 now tells you once, late in the morning. The usual cause is a chart with no data for the contract, or a connection that came back only part of the way.
-
A disconnected account could be counted as connected. One check looked for the word "Connected" inside the account's status, and "Disconnected" contains it. The attach now needs every account to be really connected.
-
Load NT8 data no longer sits on "asking". The button now resets when the request finishes and tells you what happened.
-
Attach now waits for a plan that is still running. Pressing Attach during a re-plan used to look finished while nothing happened. The button now says it is waiting for the plan, and the attach starts once the plan is done. The Attach button is on both the Summary page and the Plan page.
-
Updates are checked every hour instead of every six hours.
-
Backtests run in the evening only, from the New York close until shortly before the Tokyo open, so they no longer share the computer with live trading.
-
The "no stop and no target" warning no longer fires while a stop is being moved. It now waits about a minute and a half to confirm that a position really is uncovered.
-
Gold books roll to the right contract. Gold trades February, April, June, August and December, not the quarterly months.
-
If R2 freezes, the watchdog now says which step it froze in and tries a second way to restart it before asking for you.
1.7.73 - 2026-09-23
- IF YOUR WINDOWS DOES NOT USE A FULL STOP AS THE DECIMAL POINT, UPDATE NOW.
Every book stores its stop distance as text, such as 1.50 times the average range. It read that text using your computer's own number format. On a machine that writes one and a half as "1,5" that goes wrong, and how it goes wrong depends on your language:
- German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese and others where "." separates thousands: the book trades normally, but reads "1.50" as 150. Every stop is placed a hundred times further away than intended - in practice, no stop at all. Nothing warns you.
- Portuguese (Portugal), French and others: the book stops with "Input string was not in a correct format" on its first trade and never trades.
- English and other full-stop formats are not affected, and never were.
Every book now reads the number the same way on every computer. On an English-format machine nothing about how the books trade changes at all.
How to check yours: Windows Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Regional format. If the example number shows a comma before the decimals, you were affected.
If you were affected and have traded, check your open positions in NinjaTrader now: a position opened before this update may have a stop that is much further away than it should be. Move it, or close the position, by hand.
Reported by an owner in Portugal, who worked out the likely cause himself from the error.
-
One book was listed twice under two names. Two books were the same strategy with its parts listed in a different order, so they took identical trades. One has been removed; the list is now 19 books. Nothing already running is affected.
-
The Plan page could show the wrong "planned" time. Opening the page could stamp the current time on a plan made hours earlier, which made an old plan look new. It now shows when the plan was actually made.
1.7.72 - 2026-09-23
- A rare fault that could leave a position with no stop on it. This is the important one.
When a book's entry fills, it immediately places the protective bracket - the stop and the target. NinjaTrader can report the same fill more than once, and on more than one thread at the same time. The book checked whether it had already placed the bracket and then marked it as placed; those are two steps, not one, so two reports arriving together could both get past the check and put two or three brackets on a single entry.
The extra stops then have nothing to close. In unmanaged mode an order to sell when you are already flat does not close anything - it opens a short, and that one has no stop and no target on it at any price. That happened once, on 16 September.
Two books were fixed that day. Twenty-nine were not, which we only found this morning - including one that funded accounts are trading. Every book now takes the entry order atomically, so exactly one bracket is placed no matter how many times a fill is reported. The same sweep also put the protective-stop fix into every book that was missing it.
You do not need to do anything, and nothing about how your books trade has changed: measured over 2019-2026, each book's results moved by less than 1%.
- "This position has no stop and no target" sometimes said so when it was not true.
R2 decides a position is unprotected by counting the working orders that would close it. An order that is being AMENDED sits in a different state for a fraction of a second while the change reaches the exchange, and R2 was not counting those. A trailing stop amends itself constantly, so the alert could land while a perfectly protected position simply had an order in flight. One owner got exactly that at 06:16 on 23 September with a stop and a limit both live on the position.
Orders in flight now count as cover, and the alert has to see the same position still uncovered ninety seconds later before it says anything. A real naked position stays naked for hours; a flicker clears in well under a second. Orders being CANCELLED still do not count, because those are about to stop protecting anything.
- The book list is down from 31 to 20, and every one of them earns its place.
Every book was ranked through R2's own sizing engine, over the same 2019-2026 window, at all four risk levels, for both jobs - passing an evaluation and reaching a payout. That is eight tables. A book now ships only if it finishes in the top ten of at least one of them.
Two of the books that went were the same strategy under two different names, which meant the planner had been treating one book as two candidates and you were being offered it twice.
Nothing you are running has been taken away. If a book you use is not in the new list it keeps working; it simply is not offered to new accounts.
- Correction to what the last release said. 1.7.71 said re-planning was slow because the library held books with seven and eight slots, and that searching them exhaustively was the cause. That was wrong, and we should not have said it without checking: no shipped book has ever had seven or eight slots. The change in 1.7.71 was harmless and is still right, but it did not make planning faster, because it applied to books that do not exist.
The real cost is the books with five and six slots, which are searched exhaustively on purpose and account for 99% of the work. What actually reduces it is the shorter book list in this release: a little over six times fewer sizings to search, with no loss of quality, because the books that went are ones the search would never have chosen anyway.
1.7.71 - 2026-09-23
- Re-planning took the best part of an hour, and nothing traded while it did. When R2 re-plans - because you changed a firm, a risk level or a book - it sizes every account before it attaches anything. On a desk with 22 accounts that was still on the FIRST account after 54 minutes, with the strategies detached the whole time.
The cause was in how R2 searches for a sizing. It tries every combination of contracts across a book's slots, and for each one it replays that book's entire history - about 1,900 trading days. For a book with eight slots there are 5,758,374 combinations. The code treated that as a large-but-fine number; it is not, it is hours. Four books in the library have eight slots and three have seven, so planning a single account meant roughly 25 million replays.
Books wider than six slots now use the hill-climb search R2 already had for wide books, which finds a sizing within about 2% of the exhaustive answer in a fraction of a second. Narrow books are unchanged and every existing sizing stays valid.
If a re-plan has ever seemed to hang, this was why. It was working; it was going to take hours.
1.7.70 - 2026-09-22
- A short nightly re-test could silently replace a book's real record. R2 re-tests every book after the New York close and shows you that instead of the original validated backtest, which is the point - last night's numbers are fresher. But the nightly asks NinjaTrader for seven years and gets back whatever history your machine actually holds for that contract, and NinjaTrader does not complain when there is less.
So on a machine with a few months of data, a book measured over seven years and several thousand trades was quietly replaced by a three-month, forty-trade one - and the Strategies tab then showed that book losing money. An owner watched his combined figure fall from about 8 million to 2.36 million and reasonably assumed an update had broken his books. Nothing had broken. Only the window underneath the numbers had changed, and nothing on the page said so.
A fresh re-test still wins when it covers comparable ground. It can no longer win by being shorter: if last night's run covers materially less than the validated result, R2 keeps the validated one and says so, naming both spans in days.
If your books suddenly look much worse after a nightly run, this was why. Loading more history for your contracts - Tools > Historical Data - makes the nightly a real seven-year re-test rather than a short one.
- The Analyzer windows that multiply, and the "frozen NinjaTrader" they cause. R2 runs its backtests in the Strategy Analyzer and then closes that window. If you have NinjaTrader's Confirm window close option switched on - which is the default - NinjaTrader put up an "are you sure?" box instead of closing, and R2 would not answer it. R2 never presses a button on a close confirmation: doing that on a chart once abandoned a shutdown half way and saved a 343-byte workspace, taking every strategy on every account with it. So the box sat there, the window never closed, and the next backtest opened another one.
That is not only untidy. A running backtest holds NinjaTrader's interface thread, so a stack of them looks exactly like a hung platform: clicking Strategies does nothing, a manual flatten is refused, and the confirmation box itself will not respond. One owner's position ran to his prop firm's own liquidation in that state on 22 September, and his books' own end-of-day flat would have failed for the same reason his click did.
R2 now switches that confirmation off for the instant it takes to close the window it opened itself, and puts your setting straight back afterwards. Nothing stacks, and R2 still never presses a button on a window it does not own.
It never showed up here because the option is off on the machine R2 is built on. 129 Analyzer runs, not one reproduction.
- A hung NinjaTrader is now noticed, said out loud, and restarted. Everything R2 checked before asked whether NinjaTrader was running. A hung one is running. It is also worse than a closed one, because a closed one gets restarted and a hung one gets trusted - it will not place an order, move a stop, or close a position.
R2 now watches the heartbeat its add-on writes inside NinjaTrader every two seconds. If that stops while NinjaTrader is still running, NinjaTrader is not executing anything, and after three minutes R2 ends it and starts it again. You are told either way, on Telegram, including when the restart fails - and the message says whether you had positions open and tells you to check them with your prop firm rather than through NinjaTrader.
It will not fire while NinjaTrader is doing something R2 asked for - a compile, an attach, a
backtest - nor in the first five minutes after it starts. If you would rather be told and
decide yourself, put {"restart_wedged_ninjatrader": false} in dashboard.json; the warning
still comes, only the restart stops. Remember that NinjaTrader cannot log itself back in, so a
restart may leave it at its login screen until someone signs in.
- R2 now sweeps the accounts flat at the end of the day. Every book already flattens itself at 16:55 New York and that is still what should close your day. At 16:58 R2 checks the accounts it manages and closes anything still open, cancelling any working orders first.
It only ever touches accounts in your plan, it runs once per account per day, and if it has to
close anything it tells you - because a sweep that acts means a book did not flatten itself,
and that is worth knowing rather than quietly tidying away. "eod_sweep_minute": 0 in
policy.json switches it off.
1.7.69 - 2026-09-22
- Withdrawing yesterday's change to the clock setting - it was wrong, and this puts it back. 1.7.67 set "Convert PC time to New York" on for every book R2 attached, on the reasoning that the conversion does nothing on a machine already set to New York, so on could never be worse than off. That reasoning was wrong.
The switch converts the bar's time from Windows' time zone. But NinjaTrader hands the book its bar times in NinjaTrader's own display time zone, under Tools > Options > General, which is a separate setting. The two usually match, which is why the switch is normally correct. If you have deliberately set NinjaTrader to New York while Windows is on another zone, your bar times already arrive in New York and converting them again shifts them twice - so for that machine off is correct, and 1.7.67 would have broken it at the next attach.
An owner pointed this out within the hour. R2 no longer touches the setting at all. It still mentions it when the stored copy has it off, but it now says plainly that off is right for that one configuration and leaves the decision where it belongs.
If you took 1.7.67 or 1.7.68 and you have set NinjaTrader's time zone by hand, check the Parameters column on your strategies and put it back to what you had.
The proper fix is not a setting at all: the books should convert from NinjaTrader's own zone rather than Windows', after which there is nothing to get wrong. That is coming in the books.
1.7.68 - 2026-09-22
- HALT ALL had no way back. Pressing it stopped every strategy, as it should, and then there was nothing on the page that could start them again - the command to lift a halt has always existed, but no button ever sent it. An owner who pressed HALT to find out what it did was left deleting a file by hand. RESUME now appears where HALT ALL sits, and only while you are actually halted, so it is never a button waiting to be pressed by mistake. Lifting a halt opens nothing: the books go back on at the next pre-open routine, or straight away if you press Attach now.
1.7.67 - 2026-09-22
- A book could be switched on with its clock turned off, and then it never traded. Every session in every book is written in New York time - the 09:15 and 09:30 opening ranges, the Tokyo open, the London fixes - and a setting called "Convert PC time to New York" is what turns your computer's clock into that. With it off, a machine outside New York looks for the 09:15 range at 09:15 on ITS clock, which is a different hour of a different session: the range means nothing there and the volume filter has nothing to compare against, so the book takes very few trades or none at all. It stays switched on and looks perfectly healthy the whole time.
R2 copied each book's settings from whatever NinjaTrader last had stored on your machine and put that on every account, and nothing checked the result could trade. Two owners were found in exactly this state, silent for days while everyone else's books were firing. R2 now sets that switch on for every book it attaches, whatever the stored copy says - on a computer already set to New York the conversion does nothing, so there is no machine where off is the better answer.
It cannot change a book NinjaTrader already has open, so it also tells you when the stored
settings still have it off. Worth checking now: NinjaTrader's Strategies tab, the
Parameters column. If it starts with False, open the book, tick "Convert PC time to New
York" under "0. General", and switch the strategy off and on again.
1.7.66 - 2026-09-22
- R2 was taking most of the machine, all day, for nothing. On a sixteen-core desk it was measured holding thirteen cores continuously with seventeen funded accounts attached: NinjaTrader stopped responding, R2's own once-a-minute heartbeat ran three minutes late, and the owner could not use his laptop. Three faults, all fixed.
It was re-running the same plan over and over. R2 records what a plan was made from only when the plan FINISHES. A plan that gets interrupted - R2 restarted, the machine rebooted - leaves no record, so the next start sees the same accounts as changed and begins the identical search again. That desk started eight automatic plans in one day and finished one. R2 now records that a plan has started, not only that it finished, and refuses to start the same one a third time by itself. Re-plan by hand still works and still overrides it.
The search was taking almost the whole machine. It ran on every core but two, which on
sixteen cores is fourteen. It now takes a quarter of them, at most four, and simply takes
longer. Nothing waits on a plan; NinjaTrader placing an order on time is the point of the
machine. If yours genuinely does nothing else, R2_PLAN_THREADS widens it again.
And it planned while the books were trading. The planner is the heaviest thing R2 does, and it would start during the session. It now waits for the New York close unless you ask for it yourself.
-
The dashboard stopped working when nobody was looking at it. The page asked R2 for a full account valuation every three seconds whether it was on screen or minimised behind NinjaTrader, which is where it spends most of its life. Every panel now pauses while the window is hidden and refreshes the moment you come back to it.
-
Reading one account's history read every account's history. The day file lists all accounts on one line, and R2 re-read and re-parsed the whole thing once per account, twenty times a minute. It now reads it once. That alone halved the cost of the page.
1.7.65 - 2026-09-22
- The hedging warning has never worked, and now it does. R2 can warn you when an account holds opposite sides at once, on a firm that forbids it. It has not been able to: the check looked for a setting on the account, and that setting only exists once the dashboard page has been built - it was never in the file the check actually reads. So every account looked like "hedging allowed" and every one was skipped, silently, for as long as the warning has existed. If you are on a firm that forbids hedging, assume you have never been warned. There is now a test covering eight cases so it cannot go quiet again.
Check the no hedging switch on each account in Settings while you are here. The warning can only speak for accounts whose firm is marked as forbidding it.
-
A new warning: hedging across your OWN accounts. Firms that forbid hedging generally judge it across your whole profile, not one account at a time - being long on one of your accounts and short on another counts, and costs the profits on every account involved. R2 only ever looked inside a single account, so this was invisible. It now watches every account under one firm together and says which are long and which are short, in which contract, the moment it happens. It does not matter what put the position there: another account's book, or you trading by hand.
-
The dashboard says how old the books actually trading are. New books only go into NinjaTrader while NinjaTrader is closed. On a machine that stays open around the clock they simply never go in, and R2's only word for that was "still waiting on the books", which reads like housekeeping. It now names the date the running books were built and how many days behind they are, and says plainly that until NinjaTrader is closed the old ones are the ones placing your orders.
1.7.64 - 2026-09-22
- A single rejected order could shut a book down and leave a position unprotected. NinjaTrader's default behaviour when any order is rejected is to cancel the strategy's other orders and stop the strategy. On a book that is holding a position, that means the stop and the target are pulled and nothing is left watching the trade - and the book will not take the next one either, because it is no longer running. A rejection is usually something small and temporary: a price that moved between the order being written and being read, a margin check that clears a second later. One of those should not end the day.
The books no longer hand that decision to NinjaTrader. A rejection is now handled by the book itself: it puts the protective orders back, and it says so in the log. If it cannot get them back after three tries it stops trying and says plainly that the position is unprotected and needs you, rather than retrying for ever in silence. This is what was behind positions found sitting with no stop, and strategies found switched off with "Finalized" beside them.
All 31 books carry this. It was checked book by book, in every folder they are built from.
- The journal's cost warning cried wolf on quiet days. R2 measures each day twice - once by pricing your own fills, once from the account's day P&L - and warns when the two disagree by more than the modelled commission, because that means the commission it is modelling is no longer what your broker charges. The test for "disagree" was a flat 50 cents, whatever you had traded. On a day with one trade, a 90-cent difference - less than a tick - told the owner his cost model was wrong and sent him to Settings to retype a figure that was correct. The gap is now measured the way commission is charged, per contract, so it only speaks when the difference is the size of a real costing error.
1.7.63 - 2026-09-21
-
Yesterday's partial-fill fix did not reach every book, and this one does. 1.7.62 said every book was fixed. It was not true: 17 of the 31 books shipped carried the fix and 14 did not, because they live in folders the fix was never applied to. The books that missed it were ORBMicroIncomeAll, ORBMicroIncomeNQ, ORBMicroIncomeAllV2, ORBMicroIncomeNQV2, ORBMicroIncomeAllRebuilt, ORBMicroIncomeAllNoStack, ORBMicroPropPassAll, ORBMicroPropPassNQ, ORBMicroPropPassNQV2, ORBMicroPropPassPayoutAllNoStack, ORBMicroPropPayoutAll, ORBMicroPropPayoutNQ, ORBMicroPropPayoutNQV2 and ORBMicroPropPayoutAllRebuilt. If you are running one of those, you did not have the fix until now. All 31 are fixed in this build and it was checked book by book rather than taken on trust.
-
Closing a position by hand could leave the book able to open a new one. The stop and target sit in the market as a pair from the moment a trade is entered, and they are orders to close that trade. If something outside the book closes the position first - you closing it yourself, a firm's risk system flattening the account, a manual flatten in NinjaTrader - those orders stay live, and whichever one the price reaches next fills against an account that now holds nothing, which OPENS a position the other way with no stop and no target. The book now notices the account has gone flat underneath it and cancels its own orders. One case it cannot see: two of its strategies holding opposite positions in the same contract cancel out to nothing, so if you close both by hand, cancel the leftover orders yourself.
-
Setup could stop dead at the plan step. If no account could be given a book, R2 listed the reason for each one and then refused to go on, with nothing on the screen saying what to change - so setup simply could not be finished. It now says what to do: check that the firm rules are the real published ones, because a profit target set too high or an account size set too small makes every position size unreachable.
-
It also now says plainly that Sim101 and Backtest are NinjaTrader's own practice accounts. R2 sizes an account against its firm's rules, and a practice account has none, so there is nothing to plan with - which was not obvious to someone trying R2 out before funding.
-
Setting an account to ignore did not stop it trading. It stopped R2 planning for the account, but anything R2 had already attached stayed bound to it, stayed switched on, and carried on trading. One owner moved R2 to a simulation account only and found his LIVE account still trading a book R2 had put there in an earlier setup. R2 now detaches its own books from an account you have set to ignore. It will only ever do that to one of R2's own books, on an account explicitly set to ignore - never a strategy you wrote yourself, and never an account that has merely gone missing because a broker connection dropped.
-
The Commission list in Settings read as though it chose which instruments R2 trades - it has an "add instrument" box, and people reasonably took that to mean adding gold or oil would let a book trade them. It only ever set what a round turn costs, for the journal's net figures. The section now says so.
-
A firm's rules could be entered but never corrected. The form only ever added a firm, so fixing one wrong number meant re-adding it and retyping every field under exactly the same name - and one character out gave you a second firm rather than a corrected one, with your accounts still on the old, wrong rules. There is now a RULES button beside each account on the firm step: it opens that firm's numbers as they are stored, and saving keeps the same firm rather than making a new one. This matters most for the starting balance, because it sets the drawdown floor for every account on that firm.
-
An account that has already gone through its drawdown floor was reported as a sizing problem - "no sizing reaches the target at all" - which sent you looking at books and risk settings for something that is neither. The plan now says what is actually true: the account is at or below its floor, with the balance and the floor shown, and nothing can be traded on it until the firm resets or replaces it.
-
After an update, "still waiting on the books" could stay up for ever. The books can only be put into NinjaTrader while NinjaTrader is closed, and R2 checked for that gap once a minute. Close NinjaTrader and start it again within the minute - which is what the notice invites you to do - and the check never landed in the gap, so the notice stayed and the previous books kept loading. R2 now takes the gap within a few seconds of NinjaTrader closing.
1.7.62 - 2026-09-21
-
A position could be left with no stop and no target. When an exit order filled in more than one piece, the book treated the first piece as the whole thing: it marked the slot closed and cancelled the protective orders still covering the contracts that had NOT been closed. Those contracts stayed live with nothing working that would take them off at any price. Seen on a funded account this morning - a short of four, both buy-to-cover orders cancelled, position still open. R2's own warning caught it and told the owner to close it by hand, which is the only reason it was noticed.
-
The same partial-fill problem made a book mis-count what it was holding. An entry that filled in pieces recorded only the last piece, so a reversal or the end-of-day flatten would close too few contracts and leave the rest open. The opening stop and target were always the right size; it was everything afterwards that used the wrong number.
Both were reported by a tester who read the decompiled code and identified the exact line. Every book is fixed.
1.7.61 - 2026-09-17
- Some NinjaTrader installations write the December contract as "YM DEC26" where others write "YM 12-26". They are the same contract, but R2 compared the two names as text, decided NinjaTrader had handed back the wrong contract, refused the data it already held, and told the owner every morning to load it by hand. Found by a tester on 1.7.60. R2 now compares the expiry, looks for stored data under either spelling, and reads a strategy's contract either way when it checks for a roll.
1.7.60 - 2026-09-17
- After a plan, R2 said accounts waiting for a strategy would be "attached at the close unless you press Attach now". They would not: R2 never restarts NinjaTrader by itself, because a restart lands on NinjaTrader's login window and a desk left there overnight trades nothing at the open. The message now says what happens - press Attach now when you are ready, and R2 reminds you after the New York close.
- The update notice's button now reads "Update now", the same words as R2's own dialog and the guide.
1.7.59 - 2026-09-17
- Saving Settings now refuses a request that is not the whole accounts document. A request carrying only the account map would have been written as the file itself, leaving R2 with no account list at the next heartbeat.
1.7.58 - 2026-09-17
- When R2 re-plans only the accounts you changed, the progress counter now counts only the work it actually does. It used to count every cached tier and every untouched account too, so a two-account change looked like a 38-step, half-hour re-plan when it had a few minutes of real work in it.
- Pressing SAVE in Settings quietly dropped a firm field the page does not show, and because R2 keyed its cached tier results on the exact text of the firm rules, that one Save made the next re-plan recompute every tier for that firm - half an hour of searching for a two-account change. Save now keeps every field on file, and the cache is keyed on the rule values themselves, so a rewrite that changes nothing costs nothing. (The first plan after this update recomputes the tiers once to move to the new key.)
- The plan panel's elapsed-time clock now keeps ticking during a long step. It used to update only when a step finished, so an eight-minute tier search read "517s elapsed" the whole way through and looked like a hang.
1.7.57 - 2026-09-17
- The automatic NinjaTrader restart from 1.7.56 now fires only on its real signature - not one strategy running three minutes after the restart - and not when a click pass was merely interrupted by the mouse.
1.7.56 - 2026-09-17
- If NinjaTrader closes by itself while R2 is putting the strategies on (it crashed on start once this morning when its broker connections were slow), R2 now notices at once, quotes NinjaTrader's log, and starts it again - instead of watching a stale file and reporting "0 Realtime" for four minutes.
- When NinjaTrader loads the strategies before their accounts are ready, so none of them can be switched on, R2 now restarts NinjaTrader once more by itself to rebuild the bindings, rather than asking you to disconnect and reconnect each account.
1.7.55 - 2026-09-17
- An account R2 decided not to trade (the planner could not size it safely) showed on the dashboard as "no strategy attached", which reads as something Attach would fix. It now says "not traded by choice" with the planner's reason, in the needs list and on the account card.
1.7.54 - 2026-09-17
- Pressing Daily report while the report was already open opened another copy every time. It now brings the one you have forward.
1.7.53 - 2026-09-17
- When R2 starts a plan by itself (an account changed firm, risk or book, or the quarterly review), the main window now shows the same progress panel as Re-plan - what is being planned, how far through, and why it started - instead of one status-bar line that the next minute's notice overwrote.
1.7.52 - 2026-09-17
- Telegram: pressing Connect a second time (or after a reinstall) found no new message waiting and quietly forgot the phone it was already connected to, so the test message then said "Connect first". Connect now keeps the chat it knows whenever the bot can still reach it, and sends a line to prove it.
- The Telegram instructions no longer tell you to press Start when the chat already exists - any message to the bot will do.
- Opening the setup window from BACKTEST and reaching its plan step saved an empty account list, so the next Re-plan found every account "unmapped" and wrote an empty policy. The setup window now keeps every account it did not show you exactly as it was.
- And as a second lock: R2 will no longer replace a policy that names accounts with one that names none just because no account maps to a firm. It keeps the policy on disk and tells you to check the firms in Settings.
1.7.51 - 2026-09-17
- The setup window's attach log (what R2 did to NinjaTrader on the first start) vanished the moment Finish was pressed. It is now kept in R2's own log as well, so it can be read back later if a desk reports that the first attach did not go as expected.
1.7.50 - 2026-09-17
- Pressing Update installed whatever version R2's last daily check had seen, not the newest one published. It now looks again first, so Update always brings the current release.
1.7.49 - 2026-09-17
- While R2 was working out a plan it used almost every core of the machine, and its own dashboard could take twenty seconds to answer. The plan is unchanged, but the search now leaves two cores free for NinjaTrader and the dashboard.
1.7.48 - 2026-09-17
- Closing R2's main window quit R2 at once, with nothing said. It now asks first and explains what stops while R2 is closed. Windows shutting down is not questioned.
1.7.47 - 2026-09-17
- Pressing Attach when every strategy was already on its chart reported "every strategy is on and trading" even when none of them was running. R2 now counts what is actually trading, switches on whatever is not, and if NinjaTrader refuses it says so instead of claiming success.
- The wizard's closing message now says how many accounts are trading rather than assuming all of them are.
- The rollover notice is also cleared while R2 waits for the strategies to come up after a restart, not only when it starts clicking.
1.7.46 - 2026-09-17
- After Done on the rollover notice, NinjaTrader asks "Rolling over futures instruments will update the expiry... ?" with Yes/No. R2 now answers Yes as well, so the notice cannot keep the books from being switched on.
1.7.45 - 2026-09-17
- The rollover notice handled in 1.7.43 is not a window of its own: NinjaTrader hangs it inside the Control Center, so R2 was looking for it in the wrong place and it stayed up. R2 now finds it wherever NinjaTrader puts it.
1.7.44 - 2026-09-17
- If NinjaTrader came back with its Control Center minimized, R2's clicks to switch the books on landed on whatever window happened to be at those screen positions, every click was reported as "did not take", and R2 then mistook its own pointer for yours and kept waiting. It now restores the Control Center before clicking, and never clicks a box that is not on screen.
1.7.43 - 2026-09-17
- Around the quarterly contract roll, NinjaTrader shows an "Auto Rollover Notification" a few seconds after it starts. It sits over the Control Center and swallows every click behind it, so the attach switched on nothing and reported "click did not take" for every book. R2 now presses Done on that notice before it switches the books on, and again if a click is refused.
1.7.42 - 2026-09-16
- Setting up after the New York close could leave the wizard's Strategies step waiting for an hour. R2's nightly check re-runs every book after the close, and the step treated any run in progress as something it had to wait for. It now waits only for a book that has no result yet.
- A strategy file of your own sitting in NinjaTrader's Strategies folder was being queued for the nightly check and counted as one of R2's books. R2 now leaves those alone; your own strategies come in through the Intake tab.
1.7.41 - 2026-09-16
- When an account already had a plan, the planner kept that row exactly as it was, even if the account had since been moved to a different firm or risk tier. The row then no longer matched the account, and the attach quietly left it without a book: 13 of 18 accounts after a full plan. A kept row is now reused only while its firm and risk tier still match; otherwise the account is planned again.
- The plan step counted every row that had a book as ready. It now counts only the accounts the policy will actually put on a chart, and names the rest with the reason.
1.7.40 - 2026-09-16
- The plan's per-firm sizing table was thrown away whenever the firms file changed in any way - adding another firm, or the wizard saving the same rules again - so every firm's search ran again from scratch. A firm's rows now survive as long as that firm's own rules are unchanged.
1.7.39 - 2026-09-16
- On the "Which prop firm is each account with?" step, the choices you had made were only kept once Next was accepted. Pressing Back, or a Next refused because one row was still blank, rebuilt the page and threw every choice away. Each choice is now kept the moment it is made.
1.7.38 - 2026-09-16
- The "Your accounts" step of the setup wizard listed whatever NinjaTrader was showing at the moment the page opened. Right after a login NinjaTrader is still connecting to your firms, so the page could open empty and stay empty; the only way on was Back, then Next. The page now watches NinjaTrader and fills itself in as the accounts arrive, keeping any ticks you have made.
1.7.37 - 2026-09-16
- After the setup wizard finished its plan, R2's main window found no record of it and planned every account again the moment the wizard closed - the same long search, for nothing. The wizard now records its plan the same way the automatic planner does.
- Pressing Next right after the attach announced "accounts are trading" could answer "R2 is working out the plan", which was not what was happening. The wait is released the moment the attach ends, and the box now says which step is still finishing.
1.7.36 - 2026-09-16
- If NinjaTrader lost its connection to a firm while the plan was being worked out (an internet blip does this, and NinjaTrader does not reconnect on its own), pressing Next after the plan said "The plan has not produced anything to trade yet. Check the strategies step." - the wrong place to look. R2 now checks NinjaTrader again when Next is pressed and, if accounts are still missing, names them and says to reconnect them under NinjaTrader's Connections menu.
1.7.35 - 2026-09-16
- The notice "R2 x applied - still waiting on the books are in NinjaTrader and load at its next start" never went away, even days after NinjaTrader had restarted with the books loaded. It now clears by itself the moment the add-on reports from a NinjaTrader started after the books went in. Reported by two testers.
1.7.34 - 2026-09-16
- ORBMicroIncomeNoHedgeMulti20 now has its No-hedging switch ON by default. The book exists for accounts whose firm forbids hedging and its record was run with the switch on, so a row written from the book's defaults must run the same way - until now it did not.
1.7.33 - 2026-09-16
- After R2 starts it writes to its log what it decided about NinjaTrader (session on or off, running or not, opened or could not open) instead of only flashing it in the status bar. Uninstall also removes the backup copies R2 kept of its books assembly inside NinjaTrader's bin\Custom.
1.7.32 - 2026-09-16
- Uninstall also removes R2's own folder in full - the configs, licence file, backups and logs it wrote there after installing. A reinstall then starts from the setup wizard like a new customer.
1.7.31 - 2026-09-16
- Every book's record now includes commission. The Strategy Analyzer runs on a simulation account that carries no commission template, so NinjaTrader reported $0 and every shipped record was gross - on one book that was 12,762 micro contracts, about $18,000 over seven years. The add-on now charges the measured round-turn cost per contract (from costs.json) whenever NinjaTrader supplies none, and every record shipped here was re-run that way.
- The No-hedging book's record was re-run with its switch ON, so the record describes the book as it runs on a no-hedging account, not its default.
- The Journal now separates R2's books from everything else on the same accounts. The total still shows, but it is labelled as including other trading, and a books-only line (trades, net, profit factor, win rate) sits beside it with a rolling profit factor over the last 20 book trades. Account totals were being quoted as the strategies' performance; they are not.
- Uninstall leaves nothing behind. The uninstaller now closes NinjaTrader (answering its questions), removes every strategy row R2 wrote with its bindings and data-series links, removes the chart R2 created (a chart you made is left alone), removes the add-ons and the books assembly from bin\Custom, the dashboard folder, the Run entry and the watchdog task.
1.7.30 - 2026-09-16
- After installing a build that carries new books or a new add-on, an Attach now puts them into NinjaTrader during its own close. They used to wait for R2 to find NinjaTrader closed on a routine check, and an attach only closes it for a few seconds - so on my own desk 1.7.29's two new books stayed staged through an attach and NinjaTrader came back on the old assembly.
1.7.29 - 2026-09-16
- Two new books, both proven through the Strategy Analyzer today and shipped with their records: ORBMicroIncomeCappedMulti20 is the Micro Income book with one change - the protective bracket goes on exactly once per entry, taken atomically, so a fill NinjaTrader reports twice can never stack a second stop and target and open a surplus position (seen live on 2026-09-16). ORBMicroIncomeNoHedgeMulti20 is the same book with a "No hedging" switch for firms that forbid opposite positions in correlated indices inside one account. Backtest, same seven years as the base book: 8,987 trades, +$271,775, worst drawdown -$3,170 (base: 9,008, +$271,550, -$3,170). Nothing changes on your accounts by itself: the planner may choose them at your next re-plan and only with the usual switch margin.
1.7.28 - 2026-09-16
- Closing NinjaTrader: R2 answered "Do you really want to shut down?" and then sat on "Do you want to save workspace 'X'?" until a person clicked (seen 12:50 today). R2 now answers Yes to every question NinjaTrader asks on the way out - shut down, save the workspace, and any wording it adds later - and still never presses anything in a chart or the Control Center.
- And when NinjaTrader exits while R2 is still reading its windows, R2 no longer reports "close failed" and stops the attach: NinjaTrader being gone is the result it wanted.
1.7.27 - 2026-09-16
- Upgrading from anything before 1.7.24 no longer costs you one bad restart. The strategy rows those builds wrote have no bars period, and NinjaTrader throws on them at start-up (see 1.7.24). R2 now repairs such rows in place whenever NinjaTrader is not running - before R2 starts it, and inside every attach after the close - so the first restart after this build loads cleanly. You do not need to press Attach after installing.
1.7.26 - 2026-09-16
- Settings would not open in 1.7.23, 1.7.24 or 1.7.25: the button read "opening…" and stayed that way. The hedging setting added in 1.7.23 read its default from a name that did not exist, the dialog's script threw before the window was shown, and nothing said so. Fixed, and a failure at that point now re-enables the button and tells you what went wrong instead of going quiet. Nothing trading was affected - it is the window only. The audit now parses the page script and refuses to ship if it does not.
- And one more on the close itself: NinjaTrader's 'You have N strategies running. Do you really want to shut down?' question is a window with no title, so 1.7.25 - which rightly stopped pressing buttons in untitled windows - never answered it and waited two minutes for nothing. R2 now recognises that question by what it asks and answers Yes to it, and nothing else.
- The two 1.7.24/1.7.25 fixes have now been proved end to end on the live desk: NinjaTrader restarted twice with R2's rows, re-enabled all 18 strategies itself with no exception, and kept the workspace.
1.7.25 - 2026-09-16
- CRITICAL, take this over everything before it. Found the thing that has been emptying workspaces: when R2 closes NinjaTrader (every attach does) it answered NinjaTrader's prompts by pressing any button it recognised in ANY NinjaTrader window - and a chart's title-bar Close is one of those buttons. Pressed while NinjaTrader was already shutting down, NinjaTrader threw, abandoned the shutdown half way, disabled every strategy and saved the workspace back as an empty 343-byte stub. That is your layout going and your strategies with it, on every attach, for everyone. R2 now presses buttons only inside a prompt (Error, Warning, Question, the rollover notice and so on), never on a chart or the Control Center, and Close is no longer an answer it gives. Your workspace is still recoverable from Documents\NinjaTrader 8\dashboard\backups if it was flattened before this build.
1.7.24 - 2026-09-16
- CRITICAL, take this over 1.7.18-1.7.23: the strategies R2 attached were being dropped on every NinjaTrader restart, and the trace names why. A strategy record R2 serializes off a chart has no bars period in it, so the row R2 wrote loaded with an empty bars period; NinjaTrader's Strategies tab threw on that row while loading, the Control Center's load stopped, and the workspace was saved back EMPTY - every strategy on the chart gone. The row R2 writes now carries NinjaTrader's own minute-bars block (verified against a row NinjaTrader saved itself) and the chart's instrument, so the row survives a restart.
1.7.23 - 2026-09-16
- Hedging is now a setting per account: "hedging allowed" or "NO hedging - firm forbids it". FundedNext and Tradeify forbid opposite positions in correlated indices inside one account; Blue Guardian and Lucid allow it. The books' slots decide independently and can end up long one index and short another on the same account, so an account set to no-hedging now raises a warning the moment that happens, naming both sides. Stopping it before the order is placed needs a book that carries the rule, which is being built and will arrive with its own backtest.
- The add-on now reports, for every loaded strategy, which of its parts NinjaTrader left empty - the Strategies tab has been throwing on R2's rows and this names the reason instead of guessing.
1.7.22 - 2026-09-16
- CRITICAL, take this over 1.7.18-1.7.21. Two faults, one of them mine from 1.7.18: R2's pop-up clearer pressed Close on the chart its own strategies live on, and on an untitled window, and NinjaTrader shut down. It now acts only on windows whose title says they are a dialog, and only ever presses OK, Yes or Continue. And a workspace R2 writes or puts back no longer carries an indicator NinjaTrader cannot build. NinjaTrader restores a chart indicator by indicator; one it cannot construct throws, the chart restore is abandoned, and the empty result is saved over your workspace - with every strategy on that chart. Nine copies of a tool from my own machine had ridden along in the live workspace copy R2 restored on every attach. They are stripped, and named in the log.
1.7.21 - 2026-09-16
- The NinjaTrader audit now checks the thing that was silently wrong all along: that every attached strategy carries its data-series links, and that NinjaTrader's own log has not refused to load a strategy since the last attach.
1.7.20 - 2026-09-16
- CRITICAL. Books attached by R2 now survive a NinjaTrader restart. They never had, and today showed why: NinjaTrader reads each strategy's data series from a table R2 had never written, so every row R2 ever attached logged "Error in loading strategy from the database: no instrument". NinjaTrader ran them anyway once R2 switched them on - and then, exactly as its own message promised, dropped them at its next save. Every restart, every compile-and-close, every crash quietly emptied the Strategies table, and R2 papered over it by attaching again. The attach now writes those links, in the order NinjaTrader's own record showed for each book. If you have seen "no instrument" in NinjaTrader's log, this is what it meant.
1.7.19 - 2026-09-16
- Today's trade count is right after a restart. The add-on counted NinjaTrader's in-memory list of fills, and after a restart that list comes back short - here it held 8 of 10 and 6 of 7, missing exactly the earliest fills of the day. R2 now counts from NinjaTrader's own database, which the journal already reads, so the two can no longer disagree.
1.7.18 - 2026-09-16
- IMPORTANT. Fixes an attach that could leave every account with no strategy at all. When the only work was clearing NinjaTrader's finished flag, R2 closed NinjaTrader, wrote nothing - its own log said "writing 0 strategies" - and NinjaTrader came back with an empty Strategies table. Eighteen funded accounts here lost every book and had to be attached again from scratch. R2 now rebuilds those rows into real ones before it closes anything, refuses to close NinjaTrader at all if it cannot, and never rewrites your workspace when there is nothing to add and nothing to remove.
- R2 also clears NinjaTrader's own pop-ups while it waits for your strategies to come up. It has always answered prompts while CLOSING NinjaTrader and watched nothing while it started again - which is the half that holds up a restart. NinjaTrader's contract-rollover notice sat over two connections here: they never finished connecting, and their strategies stayed off until somebody clicked it. R2 now clears whatever appears, names it in the log so you can see what it answered, and leaves the login window and the Control Center strictly alone.
1.7.17 - 2026-09-16
- The page stops saying "consistency blocked". That reads as blocked from trading, and it is not: the consistency rule decides whether a PAYOUT is allowed, and nothing stops the account trading towards it. R2's own window has always said "before a payout" - the page had dropped those three words, and it was eight of the twelve notices on screen.
1.7.16 - 2026-09-16
- Alerts stop telling you your books are dead when they are trading. Two of them claimed a book "cannot see a bar and will not trade" on the strength of a check that cannot see either: one fired about MYM 12-26 on the same day it took 27 fills, and the other fires for a contract that has rolled but not yet expired, which still prints bars perfectly well. Both now say what they actually found and leave the conclusion to you.
- And urgency follows the level. Everything R2 raised went to your phone as urgent, so a note about stored data arrived with the same weight as an account about to breach. A phone that buzzes for everything is a phone nobody reads.
1.7.15 - 2026-09-16
- R2 stops sending urgent alerts about contracts it is actively trading. The "NinjaTrader has not stored any recent data" check looked only at files on disk - so MYM 12-26 set off an urgent alert saying the books could not trade on it, at the same time as taking 27 fills on it. Bars on disk were never the question; being able to see a bar was, and a fill answers that outright. R2 now treats a contract it has filled on in the last three days as one NinjaTrader can serve. A contract with neither stored data nor any fills still raises the alarm, because that one is genuinely unproven.
- And the attach that clears NinjaTrader's finished flag now actually runs. Asking for it worked, and then R2 threw the request away 48 seconds later, because the same "is anything waiting?" test guards the asking AND the doing - and an account running the right book under a finished flag is not waiting by that test.
1.7.14 - 2026-09-16
- You can now ask for the attach that clears NinjaTrader's finished flag. R2 decided whether an attach was wanted by looking for accounts running the wrong book - and an account running the RIGHT book under a finished flag is running the right book, so the button refused, R2's own reminder refused, and the one job that fixes it could not be started by anyone. Eighteen books here were in exactly that state: working, and set to vanish at NinjaTrader's next restart.
1.7.13 - 2026-09-16
- Attach now actually clears NinjaTrader's finished flag instead of appearing to. When every book was already running, R2 took the shortcut that avoids closing NinjaTrader and simply clicked them on - which changes nothing, because only rewriting the rows clears that flag, and that needs NinjaTrader closed. The books kept working and would silently have failed to come back at the next restart, which is the one thing the step exists to prevent. R2 now checks whether anything is really stopped: if something is, it clicks it on as before; if nothing is, it does the restart and writes the rows properly.
1.7.12 - 2026-09-16
- R2 now audits NinjaTrader itself, not just its own view of it. Everything R2 shows you arrives through one add-on writing one file, and the two times that view has drifted - a week-old firm balance shown as current, a position with nothing left to close it - both looked perfectly healthy on screen. A new check reads NinjaTrader's own database and compares: today's fills account by account, every managed account present on both sides, cash and net liquidation real numbers, every open position matched, every strategy row bound to exactly one account, every contract the front month, and any position left unprotected. It also says when strategy rows are running under NinjaTrader's finished flag - they work now, but would not come back if NinjaTrader restarted until R2 attaches again.
1.7.11 - 2026-09-16
- The correlation web draws again. Rebuilding its layout in 1.7.9 left it referring to something I had deleted in the same edit, so it threw every time it tried to draw and the Strategies page showed an empty box where the web should be. If you are on 1.7.9 or 1.7.10, take this. Nothing that trades was affected - it is that one graphic.
1.7.10 - 2026-09-16
- Takes back a book 1.7.9 should not have shipped. ORBMicroIncomeCappedMulti20 went out with no Strategy Analyzer result, and because the books ship compiled with no source beside them, your NinjaTrader could never have produced one - so it would have sat in the list for ever as something you could pick and R2 could never size. It is finished and it waits here until it has been backtested properly. Nothing you are running was affected.
1.7.9 - 2026-09-16
- R2 now tells you when a position has nothing working to close it. One account carried a short for seven hours today with no stop and no target - R2 showed the position on screen and said nothing about it. That is the most expensive state this screen can be in, so it is a warning now, with the instrument named. (NinjaTrader has to recompile the add-on before it can see this - press Compile NinjaTrader.)
- The correlation web is readable at any number of slots. Its nodes were pushed around by a spring simulation, and since the quiet strands are filtered out most nodes had nothing holding them - so they drifted into a scatter with the strands crossing at every angle and the labels on top of each other. Every slot now has a seat on a ring, slots that move together are seated next to each other, strands cross as curves and the names sit outside the ring. It looks the same whether there are two slots or sixty, and whether one strand is drawn or a thousand.
- New book: ORBMicroIncomeCappedMulti20. Same twenty slots as ORBMicroIncomeMulti20, with two guards on the bracket that the live book does not have: it will not stack a second stop and target on a slot that already has one, and it never asks to close more than the account actually holds. Today one slot put three brackets on a single entry; all three stops filled, one closed the position and the other two opened a new one facing the other way. It arrives with no history of its own, so nothing is planned onto it until it has been backtested.
1.7.8 - 2026-09-16
- The Compile NinjaTrader box now tells you what happens to an open position, and names the accounts holding one. Compiling stops every strategy: it does not close anything, and the resting stop stays live - but each book comes back set to wait until its account is flat, so it will not take that position back. Until its stop or target fills, nothing is managing it. That was the one thing worth knowing before pressing the button, and the box did not say it.
1.7.7 - 2026-09-16
- Fixes a table-emptying bug I introduced in 1.7.6. The change that stopped the cards flickering rebuilt replacement markup in the wrong kind of element, and a browser silently throws away table rows parsed there - so the Accounts, Strategies, Journal and Intake tables filled in once and then emptied on their next refresh, under a heading still saying how many rows there should be. If you installed 1.7.6, take this one.
1.7.6 - 2026-09-16
- The account cards stop flickering. They carry numbers that move every few seconds, so the check meant to avoid pointless redraws saw a real change every time and rebuilt the whole card - sparkline and all - to shift two digits. R2 now changes only the digits that changed and leaves the rest of the card alone, so nothing blinks and nothing jumps under your cursor.
- R2 no longer tells you NinjaTrader disagrees with the firm when it is R2 holding the old number. The firm balance is a snapshot, and nothing was refreshing it - yours was seven days old and covered 8 of your 18 accounts - yet it was shown as the firm balance with the gap captioned "NT8 differs by $761". NinjaTrader was right to the cent. An old snapshot is now labelled with its age and is not allowed to contradict a live number.
1.7.5 - 2026-09-16
- An attach that switched nothing back on no longer reports itself as done. When every book was already on its chart and only NinjaTrader's finished flags needed clearing, R2 tried six times over two minutes and then wrote down that it had finished - whether it had moved anything or not. So whatever asked for the attach saw the books still dead and asked again, round and round. It now says what happened, names the usual cause, and stops.
1.7.4 - 2026-09-16
- R2's chart template no longer asks NinjaTrader for an indicator that does not exist. It carried nine copies of a tool from my own machine that R2 has never shipped, so every one of you got nine "Failed to restore Indicator" errors on every single NinjaTrader restart. Found by a tester who read his own NinjaTrader log and sent me the sequence - thank you.
- Compile NinjaTrader can now actually succeed. A leftover book source file sitting beside the compiled books stops NinjaScript compiling anything at all, and R2 only cleared those when it had new books to install - which is never, once you are on the latest build. So pressing Compile produced the same wall of errors every time, and the only thing that ever fixed it was uninstalling, because that deleted the files. Every compile now clears them first, keeping a copy of each.
- The Load NT8 data button no longer says it cannot find your account. It has nothing to do with accounts: an older copy of the add-on inside NinjaTrader does not know the command and falls through to its account lookup. R2 now recognises that and tells you to compile, instead of blaming an account it is showing as connected on the same screen.
1.7.3 - 2026-09-16

R2 now recognises that and tells you to compile, instead of blaming an account it is showing as connected on the same screen.
1.7.2 - 2026-09-15
- R2 no longer reports a contract that is days from expiry. NinjaTrader names the front month from the data it happens to hold, so with no December data downloaded it still called YM 09-26 current - three days from expiry - while the books were correctly on December. R2 already refused to act on that; it was still publishing it. The calendar is now the floor everywhere, and a contract further out than the calendar is still respected.
1.7.1 - 2026-09-15
- The page no longer slides sideways. The header laid out wider than a 1280-wide window and, being the widest thing on the page, dragged everything with it - the account-name column ended up off the left edge and the header scrolled away with it. It now takes a second row when there is not enough width, and none when there is.
- A journal with its trades folded away now says so. Show/Hide is remembered, so one click hid them for good and the page showed a filter row and nothing else - which reads exactly like a journal with no trades in it.
1.7.0 - 2026-09-15
- The Strategies page loads about four and a half times lighter. It was sending every one of the 65 books' full daily history and last trades on every open - 1.9 MB, and 87% of it for books you had not clicked on. It now sends 421 KB and fetches a book's detail when you open that book. The row sparklines are unchanged.
1.6.9 - 2026-09-15
- The "NinjaTrader holds no recent data" warning no longer tells you your books will not trade. That check reads a folder on disk; it cannot see whether a running strategy has the data, and it was calling 18 working accounts dead. It now says what it actually found and points at the Load NT8 data button.
- Loading data asks the way a chart asks, and checks the contract it got back. NinjaTrader will answer with its own front month when it cannot place the expiry you asked for, and R2 was reporting that as a successful load of the contract you wanted.
1.6.8 - 2026-09-15
- There is now a "Load NT8 data" button on the Summary page. Press it and R2 asks NinjaTrader to download the contract data every book needs, rather than you hunting through Tools > Historical Data. It tells you if NinjaTrader already has everything.
- And it now tells the truth about what happened. A request can answer from the data feed without NinjaTrader storing anything, and R2 was reporting "loaded 57,191 bars" while the stored data stayed empty - saying a problem was solved when it was not. It now says whether the data was actually stored, and tells you to load it by hand when it was not.
1.6.7 - 2026-09-15
- The attach repairs an emptied workspace instead of dying on it. NinjaTrader sometimes writes a stub on the way out - a few hundred bytes with no charts at all - and R2 copies the real workspace moments before closing for exactly that reason. It was then refusing rather than using that copy: the attach stopped, every account stayed unattached, and the workspace was left destroyed on disk. R2 now puts the good copy back and carries on, keeping the stub beside it.
- And that good copy can no longer be overwritten by a stub on the next run, which would have destroyed the only thing able to put the workspace back.
1.6.6 - 2026-09-15
- The attach notice says what the attach will actually do. The button hung off the first account in the queue, so a job covering seventeen accounts announced itself as one account's problem. It now says how many accounts it will write, with the per-account lines underneath.
- Attach can be started from the Plan page and from the Summary strip, rather than only from inside a notification - reading the plan is the moment you want it. Both carry the same confirmation, and both disappear when there is nothing waiting.
1.6.5 - 2026-09-15
- A new account is planned on its own. Sizing an account takes minutes, so planning all of them takes a couple of hours - and when NinjaTrader showed an account R2 had no decision about, the setup wizard planned every account again rather than the one that was new. Accounts that already have a plan now keep it. A full re-plan is what the Re-plan button is for.
1.6.4 - 2026-09-15
- The Plan page fills in instead of sitting empty. Working out the plan takes a few seconds when there is no written copy to read, and the page showed nothing at all while it waited - no rows, no message - which reads as "there is no plan". It now says it is reading, keeps what it works out so only the first visit pays for it, and says so plainly if it cannot draw the plan rather than leaving the panel blank.
1.6.3 - 2026-09-15
- Attach no longer gives up because NinjaTrader had not finished writing its workspace. R2 waits for that file to stop changing before it writes anything - but a file that has stopped growing is not necessarily a file that is written. NinjaTrader left a 343-byte stub on the way out and sat on it, R2 called it settled, and the attach then correctly refused because the chart it had planned against was not in it. Seventeen accounts went unattached. R2 now waits for the workspace to be complete, which is the condition the attach requires anyway.
- The attach log says why a book is being taken off. It said "X is attached but the policy now says X" - the same name on both sides - when the real reason was that the contract had rolled.
1.6.2 - 2026-09-15
- The Strategies page loads faster. Every book's trade file was read and parsed on each request - 64 MB across 66 files, and twice per book, once for the figures and once for the daily series. They change only when a backtest is adopted, so they are now parsed once: 1,489 ms of that work became 2 ms. The rest of that page's cost is the cross-book arithmetic, which is untouched.
1.6.1 - 2026-09-15
- The Plan page shows the plan after you press Re-plan. There are two planning paths - the button and the automatic one - and the file the page reads was only ever written by the automatic one. So a two hour re-plan finished, wrote its text record, queued every account for attach, and left the page saying "no plan yet". Both paths now write both files through one method, and a failure to write is logged rather than silently swallowed, which is what hid this.
1.6.0 - 2026-09-15
- R2 loads the contract data your books need, instead of asking you to. A contract with no bars in NinjaTrader makes a book enabled and blind: it sits there Realtime with a blank position, placing nothing, looking perfectly healthy. The December roll caught almost everyone at once and each had to be walked through Tools > Historical Data by hand. R2 now checks once a day which of the six contracts its books trade are missing bars, and asks NinjaTrader to fetch them - sixty days each, one at a time. The notifications say what it is fetching and how far it has got. If one cannot be fetched it says which and why, with a Load data button to try again. NinjaTrader must be running: it is the only thing that can download them. This needs NinjaTrader to compile the updated add-on - press Compile NT8 in R2, or it happens by itself at the New York close and at NinjaTrader's next start.
1.5.6 - 2026-09-15
- Settings opens straight away, even mid re-plan. It was waiting for the whole book library before showing anything, and surveying that is the slowest thing R2 does - so during a re-plan the button sat there for half a minute doing nothing visible. The dialog now opens on your account settings, which are quick, and the book lists fill in when the library arrives. Until they do, each account offers "auto" and whatever it is already pinned to, so nothing can be lost by saving early.
- The audit no longer calls a busy R2 dead: its three-second probe was timing out against a server that was answering, which quietly skipped five checks.
1.5.5 - 2026-09-15
- R2 stays usable while it is re-planning. A re-plan is one sizing search per firm-and-tier and one per account, and the wide books search a far bigger space than the five-slot ones did, so a full run now takes a couple of hours. It was running at normal priority and taking the whole machine with it - the dashboard stopped answering and Settings hung. It now yields to everything else; the run itself is no slower.
- The Plan page shows the plan R2 is actually using. It only ever read the file the Re-plan BUTTON writes, so a plan made by the setup wizard, or made before that page existed, left it saying "no plan yet" while R2 had every account queued for attach with a book chosen.
1.5.4 - 2026-09-15
- The animation switch is on the page even when no book is live. It was added at the end of drawing the correlation web, after the point where the web gives up and prints "NO LIVE BOOK" - so on a desk with nothing attached there was no way to turn animation on, which is exactly when someone is most likely to be looking at a still picture wondering why.
1.5.3 - 2026-09-15
- Setting an account to "ignore" is now honoured. If the account was being managed by a prefix rule rather than an entry of its own, choosing ignore was thrown away when you saved - it looked like an untouched default rather than a decision - and R2 carried on planning it.
- A fault of mine in 1.5.2: a stray line break inside the Settings error message broke the whole dashboard script, which would have left every button on every page dead. If you installed 1.5.2, take this. The build now refuses to ship if the page does not parse.
1.5.2 - 2026-09-15
- Settings opens quickly. Every time it opened, R2 re-read and re-parsed every backtest result on disk - 64 MB across 66 files - because the dialog asks for the book list first. That took about 1.4 seconds on an idle machine and far longer while a re-plan had it busy, with the button showing nothing at all in the meantime. Results are now read once and re-read only when one actually changes: the same call now takes 3 milliseconds.
- And while it is opening, the button says so, rather than looking broken.
1.5.1 - 2026-09-15
- The moving background is back. The same reduce-motion setting that stilled the correlation web also removed the starfield, the code rain and the scanlines - and Windows turns that on by default over Remote Desktop, so R2 on a VPS lost its background entirely with no way to ask for it back. The switch under the web now governs all of it.
- The large empty black areas beside the web are gone. A minimum height I put under the profit curve made that panel taller than the web next to it, which stretched the whole row.
1.5.0 - 2026-09-15
- The animation switch under the correlation web actually works. The line it sits on is laid over the canvas and set to ignore the mouse, so that dragging the web never catches it - and the link inherited that and could not be clicked at all. So the web stayed still on any machine set to reduce motion, which Windows does by default over Remote Desktop, with a switch that looked like it should help and did nothing.
1.4.9 - 2026-09-15
- The plan opens inside R2's own window again. Re-plan was handing the dashboard address to Windows, which opened it in whatever browser the machine calls default - so the plan appeared in a Chrome window beside R2 rather than in it.
1.4.8 - 2026-09-15
- The correlation web can be made to animate. It follows the machine's "reduce motion" setting, and Windows turns that on by default over Remote Desktop and on most VPS images - so on a server R2 drew a correct but completely static diagram under a legend promising a pulse, with nothing saying why. There is now a link under the web that says whether it is animating and turns it on or off, whatever the machine says.
- A book you cannot pick now says what would have to change. It said "usable", which is its backtest status and explains nothing; what actually stops it is NinjaTrader not having taken the book's details yet, which is what it says now.
- "No sizing is defined for firm X" blamed the firm when another account on the same firm was planning normally. It now names what stopped THAT account - no plan row, or the reason the planner gave for refusing it.
- Re-plan is on the Plan page, not only the Summary strip.
1.4.6 - 2026-09-15
- Every book now appears in the Settings book list. One R2 will not offer is greyed out with the reason next to it instead of being left out altogether, which is why books that were installed and backtested still looked missing.
- The correlation web keeps moving. The animation stopped the moment the node positions settled, which froze every pulse the legend describes.
- The Strategies page opens on all books again, as it did before 1.4.4.
- The combined profit curve fills the panel properly - the spare height was going to a text row above it.
1.4.5 - 2026-09-15
- The eight new books are selectable. The real cause, finally: R2 marks a book out of date when its source is newer than its backtest, and for a book that exists only inside R2Books.dll the "source date" is simply when the build copied the file. Every release therefore restamped every shipped book as changed and R2 stopped offering it. A book inside a signed assembly cannot be edited by anyone, so that test no longer applies to it; it still applies to a .cs file you can edit, which is what it was written for.
- The Strategies page opens on the books that are on accounts, not all twenty-nine. The default was being overwritten a line later by a stored-setting fallback, so it never took effect.
- "Combined drawdown" is now "Combined profit": the selected books' profit added up, with the deepest drawdown along the way underneath it, and the curve fills its panel instead of sitting in a letterbox with empty space below.
- The ruin-line ring is shown only when the selection is what is actually on accounts. It was reporting a portfolio nobody holds as 446% past the limit.
1.4.4 - 2026-09-15
- The book list in Settings now picks up corrected book details without closing NinjaTrader. R2Books.dll is a loaded assembly and cannot be replaced while NinjaTrader runs, so it waits for a close - but the small file describing the books is not locked, and it was being made to wait with it. That is what kept the eight new books out of the Settings list even after 1.4.3 installed: the repair was sitting staged behind a lock it did not need. When the description only corrects details of books NinjaTrader already has, it goes in at once.
- The Strategies page opens on the books that are actually on accounts, not all twenty-nine. It was adding up every book ever shipped and reporting the total against the drawdown allowance of the accounts - "446% of the line, PAST LIMIT" - for a portfolio nobody holds. That comparison is now made only where it means something.
- The correlation web numbers only the strands that matter. Every strand carried a three-decimal figure, and on a crowded web twenty of them overlapped in the middle and hid the red ones, which are the whole point of the picture.
- Accounts with no firm set no longer sort above live funded accounts.
1.4.3 - 2026-09-15
- The eight new books are selectable again. Every build restamped each book as "changed" - the build copies the sources, which moves the file date - and R2 then treats a backtest older than that as out of date and refuses to offer the book at all. The eight new books had nothing to override it, so they never appeared in the Settings book list and could never be planned onto an account, however many times they were backtested. A book's own bytes now decide when its logic last changed, so a rebuild no longer invalidates anything.
- Slot counts in the book manifest were capped at nine, so a twenty-slot book was described as a nine-slot one to anything reading the manifest rather than the book.
1.4.2 - 2026-09-15
- When the setup wizard cannot size an account it now says why underneath the table. The reason was already there, in a note column that is the eleventh of eleven - so on a laptop it sat off the right-hand edge while the line above it said "their note says why".
1.4.1 - 2026-09-15
- The plan now opens as a page in the dashboard instead of a plain text window: one row per account, the book it will trade, what it is paired with, the contracts on each slot, the headroom and the reason. Accounts R2 would not size are listed separately with the reason for each.
- R2 no longer believes NinjaTrader when it names a front month older than the calendar's. NinjaTrader reports the front month from the data it holds, so with no December YM downloaded it still called the September contract front - three days before it expired. R2 took that at face value, called correctly-configured December books stale, and offered to move them onto the expiring contract. It now treats the calendar as the floor, never falls back onto a contract that has already rolled, and when a book is on the right contract with no data it says so and says to load the data rather than offering to attach.
- Negative money is red everywhere. A tile holding several figures took its colour from just one of them, so a run of "-1,160 / 15,256 / 77,062" was painted entirely green.
- New books installed while NinjaTrader was open are now named in the notifications list until they are actually in NinjaTrader. That step only ever went to a log file, so the books could sit waiting indefinitely with nothing on screen to say so.
- The action buttons no longer appear on every tab. They were meant for the Summary page and a style rule was quietly overriding the instruction to hide them.
1.3.9 - 2026-09-15
- A full audit of how R2 chooses a strategy and a size for each account, and fixes for everything it found. The ones that were changing real answers:
- When a plan was rejected and R2 fell back to a safe default, the SECOND book of a pair was still taken from the rejected plan - so an account could run a combination that had never been tested together, and whose contracts could exceed what the firm allows.
- An account pinned to a particular book could have that pin silently dropped, and run something else, with nothing on screen to say so.
- On that same fallback, a book with more than five strategies had the later ones left unsized, so they traded whatever the dialog happened to hold.
- The decision to switch an account to a different book compared the two in each book's own trading days. A book that trades half as often takes twice as long in real time, so R2 could switch to something slower and report it as faster.
- Drawdown headroom was worked out without the account's current balance on accounts with little history, which overstated how much room there was - in the direction that loses the account.
- The daily loss limit was tested on where the day finished rather than the worst point inside it. A day that went far enough against you to break the limit and then recovered was treated as fine.
- Two books could be paired without their histories overlapping, so a new book borrowed an old one's track record and looked safer than anything was known about it.
- The rule meant to prefer a size with room around it was doing the exact opposite, and preferring one on a cliff edge.
- The Settings dialog could not show that an account was pinned to a book: every account read "auto (R2 chooses)" whatever the file said. Saving would then have quietly unpinned it.
- Notifications: warnings now appear in the notifications list rather than repeating above it, and there is a "clear all".
1.3.8 - 2026-09-15
- Fixes the slot names on the wider books. A book with more than nine strategies only had its first nine named, so on a twenty-strategy book the correlation web and the journal showed nothing at all for slots ten upward. The strategies traded and were sized correctly - this was what you could SEE, not what ran - but on a twenty-slot book that is half the picture missing.
- The same single-digit assumption was in four separate places: the file that names the slots, the two that read a slot number off a fill, and the one that counts how many a book has. All four are fixed, and the check that would have caught it is now part of the build.
1.3.7 - 2026-09-15
- Eight new strategy books, and this time every one has been run through NinjaTrader's own Strategy Analyzer over seven years before being shipped. R2 will not size an account on a book without that, so these are the first of the new books it can actually choose.
- They are named so you can tell at a glance what a book is for and how big it is: Income (keep the account and grow it), Eval (pass a challenge), Payout (a funded account), then the instruments - Multi for MNQ/MES/MYM, NQ for MNQ alone, Asia for the Tokyo session - and finally the number of strategies inside. ORBMicroEvalMulti20 is twenty strategies across three instruments, aimed at passing a challenge.
- The widest of them run twenty strategies at once instead of five. More strategies working at different times of day means smaller swings, and smaller swings let R2 give an account a larger position for the same risk - which is what gets to a target sooner.
- Removes twenty-four books added in 1.3.6 that could never be used. They shipped without a backtest, so R2 listed them and then refused to size anything on them. They cost you nothing and traded nothing, but they should not have gone out. The eight above replace them.
- If an account was set to one of the older books being retired, R2 moves it to the best remaining book at its next plan. Nothing stops trading.
1.3.6 - 2026-09-15
- Fixes NinjaTrader refusing to compile after an update, which stopped R2 working at all. Early versions of R2 put its strategies into NinjaTrader as source files. R2 now ships them compiled instead - so if you installed one of those early versions and have been updating over the top, NinjaTrader has been seeing the same strategy defined twice. It responds by compiling nothing at all, which means no strategies, and the buttons in R2 that need a working NinjaTrader appear to do nothing when you press them.
- R2 now clears those leftovers itself, the next time it updates NinjaTrader's files. It only touches files it recognises as its own, it moves them aside rather than deleting them, and anything you wrote yourself is left exactly where it is.
- If you have been stuck with buttons that do nothing, or an attach that hangs, this is very likely why.
1.3.5 - 2026-09-15
- Finishes the fix in 1.3.4. That release taught the books to accept a size for every strategy they contain, but the file R2 writes those sizes into still only ever carried five. So on a six-strategy book the sixth still kept whatever size it was set to. 1.3.4 fixed three of the four places the number five was written down; this fixes the fourth.
- The plan R2 shows you, and the one it sends to your phone, also stopped listing after the fifth strategy. It lists them all now.
- Books with five strategies are completely unaffected and always were - their sizing is byte for byte what it was.
1.3.4 - 2026-09-15
- Fixes a real problem in yesterday's release. The books that shipped in 1.3.3 have six strategies in them; R2 could only ever size five. The sixth was attached, switched on, and trading whatever size it happened to be set to rather than the size R2 chose for your account. If you installed 1.3.3, take this update before you let it trade.
- The same limit hid the sixth strategy from every per-strategy number R2 shows you: the journal, the correlation web and the daily report were all reporting five strategies on a six-strategy book, with the sixth's trades silently dropped.
- It also stopped R2 spotting a rarer and more serious thing on that sixth strategy - an exit order that opens a position instead of closing one, which NinjaTrader will do when the book is already flat. R2 watches for that on every strategy again.
- None of this affects the books you were already running before 1.3.3. Every one of those has five strategies and was always sized correctly.
1.3.3 - 2026-09-15
- Eight new strategy books. Three of them trade only the Tokyo session, so R2 can now put a book that trades the New York open alongside one that trades the Asian open. Two bets at different times of day spread the risk in a way that two New York books never can.
- The Tokyo books measure their session in Tokyo time. Japan does not change its clocks and New York does, so a session read on a New York clock drifts by an hour twice a year and breaks entirely when the session runs past midnight. This reads it correctly all year.
- Every new book works out its own contract month from the date, the same as the books already shipped, so none of them can be left on an expired contract.
- When R2 judges whether a backtest is trustworthy it now reads the trades themselves rather than trusting a summary written by the NinjaTrader add-on, which only updates when NinjaTrader is compiled and could be out of date. Four sound books had been wrongly rejected this way.
- These release notes now reflect the version you are installing. Every release since 1.1.0 showed you the 1.1.0 notes by mistake.
1.1.0 — 2026-09-10
- Updates without reinstalling: R2 checks for a new version once a day, tells you, and applies it when you press Update. New strategies arrive the same way.
- Intake: bring in a NinjaTrader strategy of your own. R2 checks it against ten plain rules, adds only its own plumbing, converts a single literal contract size into an input by itself, refuses anything else with the line and the fix, and backtests what passes.
- The correlation web now shows the slots inside the live books, named in words.
- Notifications you can close for the day, an equity curve for the portfolio and each account, an honest "trading / connected" count, the risk setting on every card.
- R2 ships with no prop firm on file: you enter your firm's rules from its rule sheet in the setup wizard.
- One calm ground on every tab; the dialogs sit in the middle of the screen; tables line up.
1.0.0 — 2026-09-09
- First packaged build: installer, compiled books, the dashboard, the setup wizard.
